Rising inflation and changes in federal laws have led to deficit spending in Cook County. As a result, homeowners are strongly encouraged to review their reassessment property tax notice carefully. Below are the current appeal deadlines as of late October 2025:

  • Schaumburg: Appeals are open until November 17, 2025.
  • Niles: Appeals are open until December 5, 2025.
  • Hanover: Appeals will open in mid-November 2025.
  • Other Townships: Deadlines for Norwood Park, Evanston, New Trier, Elk Grove, Maine, and Northfield will be provided soon.
  • Other townships: The appeal deadlines for Norwood Park, Evanston, New Trier, Elk Grove, Maine, Northfield, Barrington, Leyden, Palatine, and Wheeling have passed

Keep in mind that your chances of winning a reassessment appeal typically range between 41% and 60%.
